There are many different ways to learn the Spanish language. One way is to actually start living in a Spanish-speaking country in order to immerse yourself in the local language. Another way is to purchase one of the high priced language learning packages. However, the best way by far is to learn with your computer!

It should be said that you will probably get the most accurate and helpful education by actually living in a Spanish-speaking country. The reason we say that the BEST way to learn is on your computer is because it is helpful for you to get a primer and to become as fluent as possible before moving abroad. If you are not considering moving, it is even more important for you to learn on your computer!

The reason this is so effective is because there are so many different avenues to help you. There are online courses freely available through websites that can give you a beginner’s education in the Spanish language.

Beyond that, there are even communities where English and Spanish speakers work together to help each other overcome language barriers. You can even find a Spanish-speaking buddy who will assist you on your journey to become fluent in Spanish. This is incredibly valuable and the chances are very good that you’ll develop an amazing relationship as you help each other out.

You can find comprehensive courses on your computer as well. This allows you to play interactive games and watch interactive videos. Your computer sort of acts as your multimedia center; as you can read, listen, and watch. These are all very important things to do as you are learning Spanish. This is as close to total immersion as you can get without actually moving to a Spanish-speaking country!

So, you can use your computer for more than just checking your e-mail or chatting with friends! It can truly be the center of your Spanish-language experience. You can use it for every point from beginning Spanish all the way through to advanced, fluent Spanish. This is a great thing that was not available just a few decades ago!

Start to explore the different avenues your computer can bring to you as soon as possible. It’s probably best to start off with a course so you can get the basics down. Then, find yourself a Spanish-speaking buddy that you can chat online with through both text, microphone, and video chat to learn more quickly and easily than you ever thought you could.

One of the main questions that people who are beginning to learn Spanish have is how long it will take. There is no simple answer to this question, as everyone is different. There are a few different reasons why the time it will take you varies.

For one thing, people learn in different ways. Some people enroll themselves in Spanish courses, while others live in a Spanish-speaking country for a while and learn by immersion. Still others purchase comprehensive language courses to help them learn quickly and easily.

Another reason why the time will take you to learn Spanish can vary greatly is because people just naturally learn at different paces. What takes you a few days to get down pat may take someone else a week or more.

Yet another reason why it’s difficult to pinpoint how long it will take to learn Spanish is because people have different amounts of time to spend on learning Spanish. If someone is able to devote several hours per day they will obviously learn a lot more quickly than someone who only has a few hours per week.

With that being said, there are ways to ensure that learning Spanish takes a little time as possible for you. The first thing you need to realize is that simply listening to an audio tape or reading a book on the Spanish language is not going to help you become a fluent speaker in a short amount of time. It is a much better idea to come at your learning from several different angles.

For instance, you may want to find a course that includes audio, text, games, video, quizzes, and other components. This will hold your interest longer and help the information to sink in. You need to be absolutely sure that whatever course you select allows you to listen to, and follow along with, a native Spanish speaker. This will not only help you get the vocabulary down, but also the usage and pronunciation.

It might take you a couple of months to learn the Spanish language, or it might take years. If you want it to take a short amount of time as possible, you’ll need to get a comprehensive course and devote as much time as you can spare to learning. If you are able to learn at a more leisurely pace, it might take you a year or more.

Want to know how to speak Spanish quickly? Of course it can help to learn how to ask for the bathroom, and to say hello. Here are a few of those basic phrases, with the phonetic pronunciations:

Hola. (oh-la) Hello or hi.

Buenos dias. (bway-nos dee-ahs) Good day.

Cuál es su nombre? (kwahl ays soo nohm-bray) What is your name?

Mi nombre es Jose. (mee nohm-bray ays ho-say) My name is Jose.

Dónde está el baño? (dohn-day ays-tah el bahn-yoh) Where is the bathroom?

Muchas gracias. (moo-chahs grah-see-ahs) Thank you very much.

Learn How To Speak Spanish Quickly

To really accelerate your learning though, you need to know the basic phrases that will get the native speakers to be your teachers.

“Cómo se dice…” (co-mo say dee-say) – How do you say… and “Cuál es la palabra para esto?” (kwahl ays la pah-la-brah pah-rah ays-toh) What is the word for that? are great phrases to know. You can say “Cómo se dice…” or “Cuál es la palabra para esto?” and point at something, or use the English word, if the person you’re speaking to knows a little English.

“Por favor, habla mas despacio.” (Poor fah-voor, ah-blah mahs day-spa-see-oh) Please, speak more slowly. “Yo no entiendo.” (yo no ayn-tee-en-doh) I don’t understand. “Cómo se escribe?” (co-mo say ays-cree-bay) How do you write it?

Yo deseo aprender español” (yo day-say-oh ah-prayn-dair ays-spahn-yohl) I want to learn Spanish.

You’ll need to learn grammar, and vocabulary, of course, but speaking a language is the best way to learn it. Spanish speakers are generally very tolerant, and love to help you learn. Here are four keys to quickly learn to speak Spanish:

1. Learn the basic phrases to ask for help.

2. Carry and use an English-Spanish dictionary.

3. Spend time with native Spanish speakers.

4. Start talking.

This is a sure formula to learn how to speak Spanish.

The Spanish alphabet only has three more letters than the English alphabet, ch (che), ll (elle) and n (ene). All three letters simply follow the letter from the English alphabet which starts with the same or similar letter. The Spanish alphabet is as follows: a,b,c,ch,d,e,f,g,h,I,j,k,l,ll,m,n,o,p,q,r,s,t,u,v,w,x,y,z.

However, there is some controversy over the letters “w” and “k” due to their similar language origin. No Spanish words contain the letters “w” and “k” unless added through translation. Also, the letter “rr” is used in some versions of the Spanish alphabet when the “r” is rolled.

A Spanish dictionary may add to the confusion regarding the inclusion or exclusion of certain letters. For example, older dictionaries may list all words containing “ch” after all words beginning with “c” while new versions list the “ch” words in alphabetical order as with the English language. On the contrary, this is opposite when referring to the letter “n.” This change occurred in 1994.

To add more confusion, some letters may not be part of the official alphabet but are created by adding accents to the letters. For example, adding accents to the vowels o, e or u alter their pronunciation and, consequently, their meaning. These accented vowels are not included in the alphabet separately. Though other languages may add these accented vowels separately, when learning the Spanish language you must simply remember the variants of these vowels when accented.

If you speak English, you already know some Spanish words since these languages are both based on the Romance language. Though the spelling may be different, the pronunciation is almost identical with only the accent differing the words. For example, the word “baby” in English is pronounced similar to the Spanish word “bebe.” As you see, though, the spellings are different.

Once you have a good grasp on the Spanish alphabet, you will be ready to begin learning the language for your next trip. The residents of Spain welcome travelers and will be flattered at your attempts to communicate with them in their language. Also take some time to learn about the Spanish culture. This will make your trip even more enjoyable. You will find, though, that in the larger more tourism-based areas, everyone also speaks English. But, do not let that discourage you from improving your Spanish speaking skills. Keep practicing and be prepare for your next trip to Spain!
